Fireside Mindfulness

Fireside Mindfulness
- online drop in -

NEXT: Sunday 31st May and Friday 26th June 2026 5 - 6.30pm
Pay what you can afford - suggested: £15

Expect a different wisdom theme each month and guided mindfulness practice

interspersed with poetry, stories, journaling and sharing.

My vision for this is that it will feel a bit like stepping back in time to the ancient practice of fireside storytelling, but with a mindfulness flavour - and the slightly less cosy context of Zoom.

In these sessions we'll listen to a carefully selected little shower of stories, poems or quotes on a wisdom theme, couched in meditation. We'll spend time experiencing our inner response, followed by breakout rooms and sharing.

Fireside sharing was the original way to pass on the wisdom needed to more gracefully navigate being human together. Let's bring it back!

Meetings are on Zoom approximately monthly on Fridays or Sundays. Suggested donation £15, but you're equally welcome if you can't meet this, just reflect honestly on what you feel you can give. Link will be provided on booking.

For all levels of experience.

Mandala Vision Board Day
- the art of being you -
online, 10am - 3.30pm12th Sept and 5th Dec 2026

Listen into the heart of who you uniquely are, beyond what you think about yourself.

‘What have you seen of your own still concealed beauty?
One of these days at dawn,
you will rise from within yourself like a sun’.

(Rumi trans. Helminski and Rezwani)

On this meditative day, you are invited to enter into the mandala of your potential, through creative discovery.

Much of the time we relate to ourselves through what we think about ourselves. And there’s often criticism there. Let’s take time to drop out of all that and get in touch with our true heart using mindful creativity. From here everything looks different.

In an imaginative process (similar to a vision or mood board), using accessible art and/or collage, we will create a personally meaningful mandala image step by step.

Studio of the Unexpected
- contemplative creativity for the curious -
FREE PILOT! Online workshop Wednesday 15th July 2026, 6.30 - 7.45pm

Studio of the Unexpected offers a contemplative creative practice where wonder grows from the simple act of beginning.

This workshop will be a quiet laboratory: a place to explore mindfully through curiosity and creativity. Here there is no right or wrong, no success or failure, only the invitation to begin. To make a mark without knowing where it will lead. To follow colour, form and words wherever they want to go.

When we release expectation, possibility awakens.

Why do this? In a world where it's normal to have forgotten the deeper possibilities within our human nature, this practice brings us back. Perhaps something is revealed. Perhaps we understand and feel in new ways. We may be surprised, delighted or gain clarity. We may feel moved in ways we can't explain. Sometimes we meet our judgements and our self-critic, but with the repeated kind invitation to return to this very moment and create from there, we can't fail!

In the Studio of the Unexpected what we produce is not important (though we may cherish it...or not). What we experience is what matters. And what we learn about who we are.

All welcome, no mindfulness experience or artistic ability necessary!

What to expect:

Mindfulness practice

Inspirational quotes, poems and explanation to set the scene

Creative exercises based in embodied presence

Journaling and/or sharing if you wish
